Final cruise for CMV’s Discovery

The final cruise by the ship Discovery for Cruise & Maritime Voyages takes place tomorrow (Saturday).

Owner All Leisure Group is disposing of the vessel to reduce the financial risk to its cruise business, as announced in July.

The final CMV cruise by 800-passenger Discovery departs from Bristol Avonmouth.

CMV head of marketing Mike Hall said: “We have received many emails, phone calls, social media messages and letters giving us compliments from passengers who have enjoyed their experience on this fine classic vessel.”

The ship will then be replaced by smaller vessel 493-passenger Funchal, which is due to operate two departures in October.

Traditional-style ship Azores will then start departures from Bristol on January 26. CMV has 11 departures scheduled from Bristol next year plus additional cruises from Hull and Tilbury.
