Gambia Bird is due to resume services from London to Ebola-hit Sierra Leone in West Africa later this month.
The carrier is among several airlines which suspended flights to the region affected by the outbreak of the deadly virus.
Other airlines, including Brussels Airlines and Royal Air Maroc, continue to operate flights.
Westminster Group, which provides security at the unspecified airport in West Africa – known to be Freetown in Sierra Leone – disclosed today that the Gambia Bird service is due to be reinstated from October 17.
The airline is to operate a twice-weekly service from Gatwick.
Westminster chief executive Peter Fowler said: “The Ebola outbreak in West Africa continues to be tragic for all those affected and economically damaging for the countries concerned however it is hoped that, given the extensive international aid and efforts now being deployed by the international community together with the exhaustive efforts of the local governments, this outbreak will be brought under control and that the countries can return to normality in the weeks and months ahead.
“In that respect I am delighted to see Gambia Bird resuming services and sincerely hope other airlines follow suit in due course.”
