Having returned recently from an educational visit to the Languedoc-Rousillon area of France organised by Lagrange Holidays in conjunction with the French Tourist Office, I was impressed not only by the attractions and facilities of the region but also by the spirit of partnership fostered by Lagrange between themselves and those whoparticipated.
It is, perhaps, a subtle combination of teamwork, empathy and product knowledge.
But, in my view, such a partnership between the smaller independent tour operator and the retail travel agent can do so much to restore the public confidence in an industry which is all too often criticised for failing to deliver the promises that it makes.
I am grateful to Lagrange for demonstrating to me so clearly those qualities which should be part of what we all strive to achieve.
