Advantage members gain benefits worth £23k a year, consortium claims

Members of the Advantage Travel Partnership gain benefits worth an average of £23,000 a year after the cost of subscriptions are subtracted, the consortium calculates.

This comes through enhanced commissions, marketing activity, savings on items such as technology, business consultancy services and staff development courses.

The value of being a member varies depending on whether they participate in the direct mail and door drop marketing campaigns; use of the Advantage Travel Gateway booking tool; how many staff sent to development events such as Frontliners, Cruise Champions Conference, Luxury Connoisseur Conference as well as fares and ticketing courses; and if they use business travel technology.

The calculation coincides with annual benefit statements being sent out.

Head of business development, David Moon, said: “We have delivered over 200 member benefit statements so far and the analysis speaks for itself.

“Although the average member benefits by £23,000, those who take more of our services, use much of the technology we offer and participate in the marketing campaigns benefit to an even greater extent.”

Jeanne Lally, from Advantage member The Travel Bureau in Gosforth, said: “The benefit statement for us brought into sharp focus the return on investment we get from our Advantage membership.

“I think it’s a great initiative and shows what a good investment being part of Advantage is.”
