GBTA targets cross-section of young industry figures to join working party

THE DEADLINE for nominations to join a new Guild of Business Travel Agents working party has closed with names from across the industry being put forward.

The GBTA agreed at its conference in May to set up a working party of young people under 35 to air their views on the future of business travel (Travel Weekly May 31). Called the Future Leaders Group, it will have particular focus on technology and will be made up of representatives from global distribution system suppliers, airlines and agencies.

Travel Centre Norwich managing director Rachel Crampton, who is setting up the group said: “I have written to everybody to ask for their nominations and a number of people have replied with suggestions for representatives.

“We are in the process of drawing up a shortlist of people. We want to try to get a good mix of representatives from across the board.”

The working party members will be announced at the end of July, and the first meeting is expected to take place in September.
