FRENCHLife chief executive Warren Sandral has been elected chairman of the Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation.
Both TIPTO founder Gary David and Travelscene sales director John Harding declined to stand.
David, who wanted to take a lower profile role, agreed to become vice-chairman after pressure from fellow members.
TIPTO’s membership stands at 29. David said applications for boating and golf categories were under consideration, but it had axed the villas, Channel Islands and day trips categories.
TIPTO members have drawn up a list of their 1,000 top independent agents, creating a pool of 2,000 agents. Each member will select 1,000 agents, and promotional visits will be tailored to their individual selections.
