Operators report rising sales and enquiries for Greece, northern Italy and Croatia with Cosmos claiming northern Italian coast sales have risen by 50%

Manos Holidays commercial manager Peter Burgess said prices for late bookings to Greece were higher than in summer 1998. “Greece is picking up, but it is not just how much we are selling, but at what price. We are getting £20 more for late bookings than last year.”

Greek specialist Argo Holidays managing director Matilde Robert confirmed Manos’ optimism. “We have excellent bookings, they are rolling in,” she said.

She said Argo was on schedule to reach its target of 35,000 customers this year.

Cosmos Coach Tours managing director Paul Joliffe confirmed northern Italian sales suffered significantly during the crisis. “Bookings slowed particularly from our North American clients,” he said.
