BRITISH Holidays, which specialises in caravan holidays in the UK, is close to signing its first racking agreement with Thomas Cook.
According to British Holidays’ head of retail sales and marketing Geoff Barnes, the agreement means the operator now has commercial agreements with every multiple except Going Places.
Barnes said the operator, which is regarded by agents as an alternative to Haven, was also receiving strong support from the independent retail sector.
“At present, our sales with Advantage are up 46% and with Artac are up 32%.
“The independents are the real winners this year.”
Sales are expected to continue strongly because the operator has more peak-season availability this year after expanding its hire fleet of caravans, and the company has also encouraged more of its caravan owners to sub-let their caravans through British Holidays.
Meanwhile, British Holidays has become the latest operator to launch its own Internet site. Details of facilities at 19 of its parks are featured.
