EasyJet faces the prospect of having to cancel about half its flights in France on Boxing Day due to a strike by flight attendants in a dispute over pay and working conditions.
Workers represented by the SNPNC-FO and Unac unions said the walkout is to start on Christmas Day.
But as there are no flights scheduled that day, the action will impact travellers flying on December 26.
EasyJet said it does not know exactly how many workers are to take part in the industrial action but expects fewer than half of flights in France will be impacted, according to local reports.
The budget airline will know the extent of the strike until tomorrow as aviation workers are legally obliged to announce strikes 48 hours in advance.
The workers are upset over the number of changes made to their schedules and have demanded a larger share of the company’s profits.
EasyJet employs around 600 flight attendants among its roughly 1,000 workers in France.
