Midconsort in TIPTO U-turn

MIDCONSORT has agreed to work with the Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation just four weeks after slating the new body.

Chief executive Sue Foxall said the U-turn came after the list of participating operators was unveiled. “We have deals in place with 20 of the 30 and the rest we may be able to agree terms with,” she said.

Foxall originally criticised TIPTO claiming agents would not listen to pitches from operators with whom they have no commercial agreement.

Advantage Travel Centres has agreed to work with TIPTO as 24 of the 30 members have deals with the consortium. TIPTO has assured Advantage that operators without deals will notbe represented in agentpresentations.

ARTAC Worldchoice has already pledged to co-operate with TIPTO.
