The Jordan Tourist Board (JTB) is celebrating after the destination was announced as the most booked adventure holiday in 2014 by Responsibletravel.com.
A nine-day escape to the country proved to be the most popular holiday booked by responsible travellers via the company in 2014.
The itinerary includes two full days at the world-famous site of Petra, a desert experience with local Bedouin at Wadi Rum, relaxing in the healing waters of the Dead Sea, time in the capital city of Amman and snorkelling amongst the beautiful corals of the Red Sea in Aqaba.
“We are delighted that Jordan was the most booked holiday via Responsible Travel in 2014 and we hope to repeat this success in 2015 too,” comments Stephen Hurp, director of the JTB UK.
Responsible Travel’s co-founder and managing director, Justin Francis says, “Jordan’s diversity, culture and history coupled with Iconic landscapes without the need for long-haul flights are a real draw for adventurous travellers and families alike.
“We are seeing more and more people wanting a deeper experience from their holiday and the full week-long trip to Jordan, which engages with local Bedouin communities and encourages travellers to immerse themselves in local culture, food and landscapes – does just that.”
