INTERNATIONAL convention organiser Seatrade is seeking the backing of the UK cruising industry for a travel trade gathering in this country next year.
The issue was put to cruise line members of the Passenger Shipping Association at a meeting in London earlier this month, but no decision has been made yet.
PSA director Bill Gibbons said he favoured Seatrade’s proposal, but stressed that plans were in the early stages.
The venue chosen for the event would have to be close to a port, to allow ship visits to take place, he said. Seatrade has not held a UK event since 1991.
