Tui UK & Ireland beat its annual charity fund raising target of £1 million last year.
Staff and customers took part in a range of activities in the UK and overseas to raise a record £1.25 million.
The company also celebrated 25 years of working with charity partner the Family Holiday Association (FHA).
Thomson Airways donated money from the sale of scratch cards and collected passengers’ loose change on board return flights.
The money raised supported the FHA, as well as the Born Free Foundation and locally chosen charities. A percentage from selling Thirsty Planet bottled water on-board went to the charity Pump Aid which provides water for vulnerable communities in Malawi.
Thomson and First Choice retail staff across 650 stores organised events and initiatives and collected donations from consumers with funds going to the FHA, Cancer Research UK, Stroke Association and Breast Cancer Care.
Thomson and First Choice resort staff organised sponsored walks, skydives and fortnightly ‘Splashathon’ events at Holiday Village resorts to raise money for the FHA, NSPCC, Tommy’s and local charities.
A Thomson Cruises ship supported Sail4Cancer, a charity that provides water-based respite days and holidays for families affected by cancer.
Tui UK & Ireland HR director Caroline Kitcher said: “We’re incredibly proud of the hard work and passion shown by our colleagues, when it comes to raising money for charity.
“Whether they’re running events or encouraging our customers to make donations, the money raised makes a real difference to the charities Tui UK & Ireland supports.
“We’re overwhelmed by the amount of money raised last year and recognise the need to continue raising the bar. We are already working on beating this in 2015.”
