Kuoni is to host its first overseas summit for trade partners in Sri Lanka this summer.
The tour operator, which recently announced it is up for sale, will host 40 of its best-performing travel agents on the trip from June 14-20.
The event will include a full day’s conference, to include speakers from outside the travel industry as well as trade experts and members of the Kuoni team, and an awards ceremony.
Agents will also have an opportunity to experience Kuoni’s Sri Lanka programme with three different itinerary options to showcase the destination’s cultural centre, Jaffna in the north and the east coast.
Amanda Darrington, head of trade sales, said: “This will be a brilliant opportunity to show our key partners, who deliver the highest volume sales for us, the Kuoni ‘difference’ and really wow them.
“Hosting it overseas will give us an opportunity to spend quality time with our top sellers, update them on our business and to showcase one of our flagship destinations.”
Darrington said sales through agents had hit the “highest level for years” this January.
