Connections Luxury Europe event to focus on wellness

The first Connections Luxury event of 2015 is to focus on the wellness sector, with experiences and small group discussions focusing on the growth market.

Connections is part of Travel Weekly Group, and runs events around the world to bring together leading suppliers and buyers of top-end travel.

The first event took place at the Four Seasons hotel in Hampshire last year, and Connections Luxury Europe will take place at the Conrad Algarve Hotel between March 22 and March 25, supported by Spafinder Wellness 365.

Unlike other luxury conferences and events, Connections is designed to facilitate long-lasting business relationships by giving just 80 invited guests the opportunity to share unique and memorable experiences.

Delegates will be given the chance to hold business meetings while taking part in activities ranging from street art and spa treatments to traditional Portuguese pursuits such as mending fishing nets and training Portuguese water dogs on the beach.

The event will also include talks from headline speakers as well as smaller group discussions including focuses on the wellness sector with Spafinder Wellness 365 and the 21st Century Luxury Traveller with Amadeus.

Micaela Giacobbe, director of commercial events at Travel Weekly Group, said: “Following on from the success of our incredible launch event at the Four Seasons Hampshire hotel in 2014, we are delighted to be hosting our first global Connections Luxury event of 2015 at such a stunning venue.

“The response from both supplier and buyer delegates to our first Connections Luxury was overwhelming positive, and we truly believe these relaxed and informal but incredibly focused events are the future of networking and business relationships for the leading executives of the luxury travel industry.”

The BBC’s global commercial news brand has also signed up to become the worldwide media partner for the series of Connections Luxury travel industry events in 2015.

BBC Global News – which operates BBC World News and bbc.com – will make its debut as media partner at the next Connections event, which takes place at the Conrad Algarve Hotel in Portugal in March.
