Lufthansa pilots’ union announces third day of strike action

A third day of strike action has been announced for tomorrow by Lufthansa pilots.

Short and medium-haul flights operated by the German airline will be affected.

Lufthansa Group expects to continue to operate 75% of its 3,000 daily scheduled flights on Friday.

Services operated by group carriers Germanwings, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa Cityline, Swiss, Austrian Airlines or Brussels Airlines are not affected.

“Lufthansa regrets any inconvenience caused by the strike and will do its utmost to minimise the impact on passengers,” the airline said.

The carrier faces disruption to long-haul services today following industrial action by members of the pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit that affected short and medium-haul flights on Wednesday.
