MSC Cruises is dropping calls to Tunisia following yesterday’s massacre of tourists.

The move came as the line said a British passenger was among those still unaccounted for following a call into Tunis by MSC Splendida which coincided with the terrorist attack in which at least 20 tourists were killed.

The ship’s next four calls to Tunis have been scrapped and replaced by Valletta in Malta.

Tunis has been replaced by Palma for MSC Fantasia’s summer sailings, while Cagliari in Sardinia will replace Tunis on MSC Preziosa’s seven-night summer cruises.

Costa Cruises has followed its fellow Italian line in withdrawing all calls from Tunis. Costa Fortuna, Costa Favolosa, Costa neoRiviera will make alternative calls.

“The company is still determining what these alternatives will be,” a spokesman said.

The line has also confirmed that no UK citizens were among the 13 who did not return to the ship following yesterday’s attack.
