Lufthansa pilots have extended strike action into Saturday.
The pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit is targeting long-haul flights on Saturday, the fourth successive day of industrial action.
Short and medium-haul services are being affected today (Friday), although the German carrier expects to operate 75% of its 3,000 daily scheduled services.
Today’s action is being compounded by a nationwide strike by air traffic controllers in Italy until 6pm local time.
British Airways and easyJet are among carriers forced to cancel flights as a result of the dispute in Italy. BA has also retimed some flights to and from Italy today.
