Tracey Crouch, MP for Chatham and Aylesford in Kent, has been appointed minister for tourism and sport.
She takes over from fellow Conservative MP Helen Grant as Under Secretary of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Grant stepped down as minister at the end of March ahead of last week’s General Election.
Crouch entered Parliament at the 2010 General Election and has served on the Commons select committee for culture, media and sport since 2012.
New culture secretary John Whittingdale was chair of the select committee up to the election. He and Crouch are both members of the 1922 Committee of backbench Tory MPs.
Crouch is a qualified FA football coach.
