MSC Cruises’ Strongitharm to leave the business

MSC Cruises’ commercial director Lee Strongitharm is to leave the business.

The line confirmed that Strongitharm, who joined the business in February 2014 from Carnival UK brands P&O Cruises and Cunard, will leave on May 18 to “pursue other opportunities”.

Strongitharm is being replaced by Giovanni Ponticelli who joins from the line’s Naples office.

Head of sales Janet Parton will report directly to executive director Giles Hawke with immediate effect.

A spokesman for the line said: “Recruitment to expand our sales team – which will further enhance the service we offer to travel agents via our ‘Serving You’ programme – is continuing as planned.

“We would like to thank Lee for his work for MSC Cruises over the last 14 months and wish him well in the future.”
