Virgin Voyages claims industry first with annual pass

Virgin Voyages has claimed an “industry first” with the launch of its Annual Pass, enabling passengers to “hop onto any ship, anytime, from anywhere – for an entire calendar year”.

The product follows the cruise line’s sold-out Summer Season Pass and starts with sailings in 2025.

The annual pass costs £94,689 ($120,000), excluding taxes and fees, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis until March 31, 2025. Travel agents who sell the annual pass will earn a commission of £7,890 ($10,000).

The pass can also be purchased using bitcoin, with Virgin Voyages claiming it is the first cruise line to accept cryptocurrency for bookings.

Virgin Voyages extends ‘summer season pass’ to Resilient Lady

Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group Founder, said: “What started as a sought-after ‘work from sea’ concept with our Season Pass has evolved into something even more special.

“Now, Sailors [passengers] can jump aboard any of our ships, across an endless variety of exciting destinations for an entire year.”

Virgin Voyages’ Annual Pass will allow passengers the chance to sail on every ship in the fleet, including inaugural voyages on the fourth and final vessel, Brilliant Lady, debuting in September 2025.

Start dates are January 1, February 1, March 1 or April 1, 2025, and the pass is valid for one year from the selected date.

On-board perks include priority boarding, free laundry services, dedicated concierge support, unlimited premium Wi-Fi, a $100 Bar Tab credit per voyage, and access to exclusive events and experiences on-board.

Annual Pass holders can add a plus-one to their cabin, with the ability to travel with different companions throughout the year.

Customers must book between now and March 31, 2025.
