Travel firms feature in Sunday Times’ Top Track 100

Card payment processor Worldplay, Virgin Atlantic and Heathrow have emerged as among the UK’s top 100 private companies with the biggest sales.


They come seventh, 12th and 16th places respectively in the Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100 league table for 2015.


Conglomerate Swire, which has a minority stake in Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific, made fourth position with sales of almost £7 billion.


Worldplay has sales of almost £4 billion, followed by Virgin Atlantic with nearly £3 billion and Heathrow with £2.7 billion.


Airline and tour operator Monarch made 53rd place in the league table with sales of £985 million followed by Virgin Trains (55th) with sales of £953 million.


Butlins, Haven and Warner parent company Bourne Leisure is ranked in 62nd position with sales of £896 million followed by Trailfinders (97th) with sales of £636 million.


Chemicals manufacturer INEOS tops this year’s table with sales of almost £18 billion ahead of emergency supplier Greenergy and Waitrose parent John Lewis Partnership.
