Celebrity Cruises is introducing a new VIP air charter service from Stansted’s private jet terminal.

The Jet Set Sail service goes on sale on July 7 and will be available for a selection of Celebrity Equinox sailings in summer next year.

It will include parking, access to a departure lounge, a 25kg luggage allowance, a two-course meal, transfers to the cruise terminal on arrival and priority embarkation.

Jo Rzymowska, UK managing director UK, said the new offering would be “a differentiate Celebrity from other cruise brands”.

Celebrity claims to be the first cruise line to have a private jet charter and Rzymowska said she believes it will attract more affluent guests to experience the brand.

She said: “Launching the VIP charter is our latest investment in delivering guests a luxury holiday experience.

“We are committed to offering a superior service both on land and on-board and now we can extend this to in the air.

“We consistently look at ways that we can enhance our offer both for guests and for our agent partners and with the added incentive of support from our Celebrity Rewards scheme we’re sure that this new offer will prove popular with guests and agents alike.”

Rzymowska said the flights are commissionable and that agents could book them in the same way as current fly-cruises are booked.

“Before announcing this we did some research and had some confidential discussions with some of our trade partners,” she explained.

“We wanted feedback and want to do this in partnership with the trade. It’s a very exciting opportunity. This is a true Modern Luxury experience.”

The plane will have Celebrity Cruises branding inside and will fly between Stansted and Equinox’s embarkation and debarkation points in Rome, Istanbul and Athens.

To celebrate the launch, agents signed up to the Celebrity Rewards incentive will benefit from Jet Set Sail bookings. For every booking for the new flight service sold between July 7 and the end of August, agents will receive 6,000 points to use for a bottle of perfume or lotion from brands including Prada and Dior.

Lead in prices start from £1,598.
