Travel Counsellors achieves £138m January sales record

Travel Counsellors has claimed record sales of £138 million in January.

The 11% year-on-year rise during peaks made it both the best January on record and the biggest sales month in the company’s history.

Of the total, £75 million came from the premium leisure market, with a 19% rise in sales.

Fifteen of the company’s top 20 sales days of all time were recorded last month, including its highest single day of sales of £7.8 million on January 31.

More than 300 Travel Counsellors celebrated their best-ever month, while 125 achieved total sales of more than £200,000 in January.

The most popular leisure destinations in January included the Mediterranean, US, Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean.

The US, domestic and the Middle East ranked as the top choices for business traveller clients as UK corporate sales reached £23.3 million.

A “significant portion” of leisure sales came from bespoke Travel Counsellors packages, which accounted for more than 5,000 bookings.

TC Journeys, one of the latest additions to the company’s tech platform, now features more than 278 itineraries, reinforcing its position as a leading tour operator.

Chief executive Steve Byrne said: “We are delighted with the strong sales during peaks, which reflects the dedication, passion and hard work of every individual in our global community, who are all committed to achieving their personal best.

“As we look ahead, our focus remains on sustaining this momentum, delivering exceptional travel experiences, and helping our customers and clients create unforgettable memories throughout 2025 and beyond.”
