Iglu Cruise and Hays Travel won two awards apiece at Carnival UK’s UK Cruise Awards on Thursday night (February 6).
The company and its subsidiary brands brought together more than 200 invitees to celebrate agent achievements over the last year at The Pelligon in Canary Wharf, with BBC Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox hosting proceedings.
Each cruise line handed out two awards to recognise “exceptional collaboration” and “long-term dedication to their brands”.
Iglu Cruise received the nod from Princess Cruises and Holland America Line for outstanding contribution.
Meanwhile, Princess Cruises recognised Hays Travel for partnership achievement and the agency group picked up its second award from P&O Cruises for outstanding contribution.
Holland America Line honoured Stewart Travel for partnership achievement, with P&O Cruises presenting Tui with its equivalent award.
Carnival Cruise Line handed awards to Cruise.co.uk for outstanding contribution and Viva Cruise for partnership achievement.
World Travel Holdings and Reader Offers were presented with accolades from Cunard for partnership achievement and outstanding contribution respectively.
The Cruise Line took home a partnership achievement award and Sovereign Cruise Club an outstanding contribution award courtesy of Seabourn.
Individual accolades voted on by all six lines were also presented to travel partners and individuals for “demonstrated excellence in specific areas”.
Paul Ludlow, Carnival UK and P&O Cruises president, gave Michael Wilson, managing director of Bolsover Cruise Club, an outstanding contribution award for “long-standing reputation for excellent customer service and commitment to innovation”.
Iain Baillie, Carnival Cruise Line vice-president for international sales, and Robert Scott, vice-president of sales, brand and marketing at P&O Cruises, presented Cruise.co.uk commercial and trading manager Nick Watts with the rising star award.
Cunard president Katie McAlister handed Barrhead Travel an Innovative Marketing Campaign Award for its social media strategy.
Trailfinders was recognised by Holland America Line sales and marketing director Karen Farndell and Eithne Williamson, Princess Cruises EMEA vice-president for outstanding customer care.
Ludlow said: “The UK Cruise Awards highlight the vital role our travel partners play in the success of the cruise industry.
“Their dedication and innovation are truly inspiring and it is an honour to celebrate those who share our passion for delivering outstanding cruise holidays.”
