Abta is to poll members to gauge trade opinion on business rates reform.
The travel association is seeking views and insights to inform its engagement with government.
A reform of business rates was pledged in the Budget last October and the government is running a consultation to gather input from businesses.
Abta is responding on behalf of members, and is gathering input through various routes, including an all-member survey, which can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SXM97PG.
The consultation is looking at a number of areas, including removing barriers to investment, fairness and modernisation.
The deadline for members to complete the survey is the end of Friday, February 14.
Abta senior UK-EU public affairs executive Wilma Thaning said: “The current business rates system isn’t fit for purpose and places an unfair burden on those businesses with retail premises.
“We’ve been raising issues around business rates as part of our ongoing lobbying activity, which has helped to secure business rates relief in recent years, which many members have benefited from.
“But that relief is going to change, and what will ultimately make a long-term difference is a fairer system all round.
“We’re encouraging as many members as possible to share their views to help us make the industry’s case to government.”
