Variety Cruises to undergo €1m fleet ‘makeover’

Variety Cruises has started a €1 million “makeover” of its entire fleet of eight vessels.

The Greek small-ship cruise line sells in the UK through Seafarer and will complete all of the upgrades before the start of the 2025 cruising season.

All of the ships will receive new paint and varnish, upgraded upholstery and improved lighting.

Two ships, Galileo and Harmony V, will have “more extensive work” done during the process.

Galileo will have completely refurbished bathrooms and showers and redecoration of cabins and common areas, while Harmony V will receive new flooring, a renovated sundeck and outdoor dining area, new lounge furniture and improved soundproofing.

This makeover is in addition to the technical maintenance the ships go through each year.

Chris Lorenzo, Seafarer Cruises managing director, said: “All sea-going vessels require continual ongoing maintenance, but this much more significant investment shows our commitment to continue enhancing the so called ‘user experience’ to meet the modern-day cruising expectation.

“This is all the more important as the small-ship cruising experience is altogether more personal, and the Captain and crew relate far more closely to guests and get direct feedback about the on-board environment on a daily basis.”
