Tui provides neuro-inclusive training to 2,500 employees

Tui has given more than 2,500 of its UK and Ireland customer-facing employees neuro-inclusive training to help them understand how neurodiversity affects customers.

The training was delivered by a neurodiversity consultancy, Perfectly Autistic, which launched in 2020.

This is the latest part in project started 18 months ago by Tui to make holidays more inclusive for neurodivergent customers.

The project has also led to the introduction of neuro-friendly shopping in more than 300 Tui retail stores across the UK which allows customers to request accessible appointments.

Teams in airports and destinations are also improving their processes to support customers.

Tui has also launched a Neurodiversity Colleague network which has 270 members and aims to create a community support network for those that have personal experience of neurodiversity, either themselves or through a loved one.

Neil Swanson (pictured), Tui UK and Ireland managing director, said: “This project has not only transformed Tui’s approach to neurodiversity but has also inspired a broader conversation within the industry.

“The work has laid a strong foundation for a more inclusive future where neurodivergent individuals can confidently experience the joy of travel.

“We have seen significant shifts in awareness among employees about neurodiversity and how it can impact both colleagues and customers, fundamentally reshaping how the business treats its neurodivergent customers to ensure a Tui holiday is for everyone.”
