Racism claim over dismissal from Institute

INSTITUTE of Travel and Tourism chief executive Linda Gibson is expected to attend an industrial tribunal on June 30 to answer accusations of racial discrimination.

Gibson is named as respondent in a case of alleged wrongful dismissal from the ITT.

The applicant, whom the tribunal would only name as a Miss Superville, claims she was dismissed on the grounds of her race. If the hearing at Bedford Industrial Tribunal goes against Gibson, the ITT may have to reemploy Superville and/or pay compensation.

Gibson refused to comment.
