Questions and Answers – golfing holidays

We asked Longshot Golf Holidays what questions are most frequently asked by agents on behalf of clients booking a golfing holiday.

Can my client pre-book golf tee-off times and at discounted rates? Yes. Tee-off times should be requested at the time of booking – they can be guaranteed subject to availability. Pre-booking golf in the UK can save up to £20 a round.

At what time of day can my client play golf? With more courses operating a twin tee-off system (from the first and 10th tees simultaneously), there are periods when tee times aren’t available. It’s easier to meet clients’ needs if they request morning or afternoon rather than a specific time – the more flexibility we have, the better.

Does my client need a handicap certificate? Yes, at most courses. Handicap requirements are clearly marked in our brochure. A client playing off a 36 handicap will know which courses they can play and which they can’t.

Is the green fee for a round of golf or for a day’s golf? It’s almost always per round. Where the green fee covers a day’s golf, one round is pre-booked and the client can play a second round subject to availability.

Can clients take their own clubs without paying excess baggage? If a client confirms they are taking their clubs at the time of booking, Longshot would cover excess baggage charges.
