Ponant Explorations will operate three solar eclipse cruises next year in the Mediterranean and off the Icelandic and Irish coasts.
The voyages will coincide with the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, with specialists on board to offer lectures and insights throughout the event.
The ‘Total Solar Eclipse in the Mediterranean’ will sail an eight-night round trip from Nice on August 6, 2026, on Le Boréal, with prices leading in at £5,670.
Metereologist Joe Rao and science journalist and photographer Serge Brunier will join the cruise as guest speakers.
The ‘Total Solar Eclipse in The Far North’ will depart from Longyearbyen in Svalbard on Le Lyrial for a 13-night cruise to Reykjavik costing upwards of £12,350.
Astronauts Claudie and Jena-Pierre Haigneré will speak on the cruise about the eclipse.
The ‘Total Solar Eclipse from Iceland to Ireland’ will sail from Reykjavik to Dublin on an eight-night voyage on Le Lapérouse on August 10, 2026, with fares leading in at £5,620. Astronaut Jean-François Clervoy will give lectures.
Prices are based on double occupancy for a deluxe stateroom and do not include flights.
