Andante Travels targets trade growth as new itineraries added

Archaeological tours specialist Andante Travels is targeting growth in trade bookings as part of its sales strategy, alongside new tours and additional departure dates on its most popular trips.

Mary Reynolds, head of product and operations at Andante Travels, said: “Growing our business through the trade is a key objective moving forward as we recognise the important role agents play in driving sales.

“What makes a holiday with Andante Travels stand out from the crowd are its expert guide lecturer who are leading voices in the world of archaeology and escort customers through the sites, sharing their knowledge and answering any questions to satisfy guests’ curiosity.

“These tours tick the box for clients who are looking for something a little different and agents should be confident in promoting them to anyone interested in learning about history, archaeology and diving deeper into a destination’s culture.”

After an eight-year absence, the operator is returning to the central Asian country of Kazakhstan, with a new 13-day tour accompanied by expert guide lecturer Dr Peter J Brown, an archaeologist specialising in the medieval world across Europe and Eurasia.

Departing on September 27, it costs from £4,695, including flights, accommodation, activities and entrance fees.

A new eight-day tour called Beyond Pompeii, The Land of the Sybil is being led by expert guide lecturer John Shepherd, winner of the Wanderlust History & Culture Guide awards 2023. The tour departs on October 13 and costs from £3,245, flights, accommodation, activities and entrance fees.

Also new are a 17-day North India tour, departing December 6, from £6,345; Archaeology of Upper Egypt, a 12-day trip departing on November 17, from £8,245; and an eight 8-day tour of Ancient Catalonia departing on October 27, from £3,245.

Due to the sell-out success of some tours, Andante Travels has also added additional departure dates to destinations such as Albania, Romania, Algeria and Crete.
