Tour operators completed the departure of their remaining customers on Sunday in the wake of the beach terrorist attack on holidaymakers, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed.
This means that are no further direct flights to the UK from Monastir or Enfidah airports following the killing of 38 foreign tourists including 30 Britons.
The FCO continues to advise against all but essential travel to Tunisia, warning that further terrorist attacks are “highly likely,” including in tourist resorts.
However, daily Tunis Air flights continue to operate to London from Tunis Carthage airport together with indirect daily departures with European carriers.
“If you choose to remain in Tunisia then you should check that your insurance policy provides adequate cover,” the FCO said.
“You should be especially vigilant and follow the advice of the Tunisian security authorities.”
It added: “The Tunisian authorities have increased their security measures but have also acknowledged the limitations in their ability to counter the current terrorist threat.”
