Turkish hotel apologises after poolside ‘terrorist’ prank

A Turkish hotel has apologised after staff posed as terrorists for a prank six weeks after 38 holidaymakers were killed in the Tunisia beach massacre.

The Sun reported that tourists “ran for their lives” after staff dressed as terrorists with fake machine guns walked around the hotel’s pool.

Only when tourists approached the manager did they discover the stunt was a “joke” staged by staff at the five-star Grand Yazici Mares hotel in Icmeler.

A spokeswoman at the hotel said: “We are sorry and have apologised to our tour operators in the UK.”
