Travel Weekly MD appeals for donations to support former agent

Travel Weekly managing director Stuart Parish is appealing for final donations to raise funds for former travel agent Mia Austin, who has locked-in syndrome.

So far Parish has raised £3,435, beating his £3,000 target, to raise money for the charity Abta LifeLine to support the 26-year-old, who suffered a stroke in 2010 and was left paralysed.

Abta LifeLine has pledged to match up to £3,000 of the funds raised to fund a replacement car for Mia to help her get around. She cannot walk, move or talk and needs around-the-clock care.

On September 5, Parish will take part in a gruelling 20-mile challenge called Man vs Mountain 2015.

“Any final donations would be fantastic,” said Parish, adding: “I’m training every day, anything from short runs, longer runs, weights, and I’m basically eating nothing but protein!”
