Virgin Atlantic sales restructure

VIRGINAtlantic has been forced to restructure its sales department following a raft of resignations.

Head of distribution Charlie McKee is the latest to leave. He has joined Internet firm lastminute.com as executive vice-president.

Leisure sales manager Ian Wilkins leaves later this month, just three months after former head of UK sales Steve Stahlmann left.

McKee was in charge of distribution, sales and reservations at Virgin. General manager global strategy and planning Conrad Clifford will take on the distribution area; head of information technology Andy Owen-Jones will carry out the reservations role; and general manager sales Paul Waite will take on the sales position.

Virgin’s head of product development Chris Brady is also leaving the airline, to set up his own Internet business.
