The Imaginative Traveller adds Outback safaris for 2000

ADVENTURE operator The Imaginative Traveller has introduced four-wheel-drive safaris, combined with some of Australia’s more remote regions.

The operator’s new Australia programme is designed for people of all ages, and marketing director Rena Brennecke said: “We have had a lot of requests to do this kind of trip through the Outback so we are catering to that need.

“Each safari involves just one vehicle and is limited to eight people.

“It means people get a more personalised holiday and visit places not included in traditional coach tours.

“They also stay on Outback homesteads so they get a true flavour of Australia.”

Safari prices start at £715 for a six-day ground package from Adelaide to Alice Springs, and include visits to the wine-growing district of Barossa Valley and the Simpson Desert.

Another newcomer is a 12-day safari from Darwin through the northern tip of Western Australia to Broome on the coast.

Ground prices start from £1,065.
