NCL confirms McKenna appointment and new marketing head

The former head of the Birmingham NEC’s marketing team is joining Norwegian Cruise Line.

Jacqueline van de Stadt (pictured) becomes marketing and PR manager, Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The line also confirmed that ex-Carnival UK sales head Jeremy McKenna has become UK and Ireland head of sales, as first reported by Travel Weekly.

The new appointments come ahead of Norwegian’s return to offering cruises from the UK next year for the first time since 2010.

Managing director, Europe Middle East and Africa, Christian Boell, said: “We have set ourselves ambitious targets and the appointment of both Jacqueline and Jeremy will enable us to keep up the momentum of 2015 and drive growth across our European markets.

“The UK market is especially important and we want to build on the record breaking guest numbers of 2015 and prepare the market for 2017, where we will not only be back in Southampton but offer a fantastic summer deployment that will feature a phenomenal five ships sailing in European waters.”

General manager northern Europe and Middle East and Africa, Nick Wilkinson, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jeremy to head of sales for UK and Ireland.

“Jeremy has a tremendous amount of experience and his knowledge of the industry enhances the team to better serve our partners, whilst focusing on driving business growth.”

McKenna will be responsible for leading the company’s business development managers and specialists for UK and Ireland.

Van de Stadt will be part of Norwegian’s larger EMEA marketing team, working with Stefanie Hegener, senior director marketing and PR EMEA.
