COSMOS chairman Roger Corkhill is negotiating to leave the operator just two months after being promoted to the position.
He will be the last of the company’s old management team to leave. Corkhill took over as chairman with the task of concentrating on acquisitions when new managing director Nigel Wright was appointed. But future acquisitions are set to be handled by Wright and part-owner Fabio Mantegazza.
Cosmos does not have any other vacancies to suit a man of Corkhill’s experience and ability, so he is expected to leave by the end of the financial year in October.
Corkhill has been with Cosmos for 30 years and the Mantegazza family is expected to give him a generous pay-off in recognition of his service. Mantegazza said:”Roger is currently chairman but I can’t comment about the future.”
