Twenty hotels are to be developed across Europe as part of a new partnership between InterContinental Hotels Group and German chain Novum.
The properties developed by Novum in partnership with IHG will be franchised in countries such as Germany, Austria and Holland.
Hamburg-based Novum has 99 hotels across Germany including its own brand hotels, while IHG has more than 650 in Europe including 64 in Germany.
IHG’s European chief development officer, Ron Shepherd, said: “Europe is growing at pace and we are well positioned to take advantage of the appetite for branded growth.
“We cannot wait to kick off the beginning of this long-term partnership with Novum Group.”
Novum chief executive and owner, David Etmenan, added: “Franchise partnerships are of particular importance to our international expansion and we see IHG and its winning portfolio of brands as the optimal way to gain ground and advance our European expansion strategy.”
