Icelandic low-cost carrier Wow Air is to raise frequency from London to connect to transatlantic routes from Reykjavik.
The airline will fly twice daily from Gatwick from March 27 next year as it expands onward long-haul services to California with fares starting at £149 one-way.
A four times a week service to Los Angeles and five times a week flights to San Francisco both will run daily from next spring.
The carrier also flies daily to Boston and Washington DC with new services to New York from next month and to Miami from April 2017.
Founder and chief executive Skúli Mogensen said: “Reception towards our new US routes this year has been overwhelmingly positive.
“It is due to this that we are able to put on even more flights and continue realising our aim of changing the landscape of low cost transatlantic travel.
“It’s a very exciting time with lots of growth plans in the pipeline – we look to the future and to expanding our network even further.”
