WHEN Mark Twain’s obituary appeared in a newspaper he wrote in to say ‘reportsof my death have beenexaggerated.’
I feel like announcing the same thing, given that I keep getting people coming up to tell me how sorry they are to hear Cadogan Holidays had been kicked out of the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
While it is true that we did have a little contretemps with AITOdue to some comments I made – and press stories about possible retribution subsequently appeared – we kissed and made up long ago.
The same holds true for Campaign for Real Travel Agents. Indeed I will be on the group’s panel for the foreseeable future.
Hence it’s tranquillity base here in Southampton. Fear not – Cadogan and the Truly Independent Professional Tour Operatorsare not in the outer darkness, but are instead truly at peace with our fellow men.
