Affordable Car Hire’s new extras website for the travel trade has been opened.
Agents can now log in to Affordable Xtras and get “competitive” commission on products including coach hire, taxi transfers, airport hotels, parking and lounge passes to executive transfers and travel insurance.
The supplier has signed a deal with Jet-kids.com to sell travel gadgets including its Bedbox, a suitcase that can be used as a bed extender for youngsters at 30,000 feet.
Angela Day, founder and chief executive of Affordable Car Hire, said agents will be given incentives to book extras through the site, which will be announced in the coming months.
“It’s been a challenging year for car rental as the cost of holidays is going up,” she said when launching affordablextras.com at World Travel Market. “So we’re looking at other ways to add value.
“There will be everything there [affordablextras.com] to help the travel agent community to feel comfortable booking ancillaries.”
