Jet2 has tripled its flights to Girona from seven to 21 a week to cope with growing demand.
The operator has also increased routes to Naples from twice to five times a week.
More hotels will also be available for the summer season, increasing from 63 to 72 hotels in the Costa Brava region and Girona and from 71 to 86 properties in Naples and the Amalfi coast.
Two new resorts in Sorrento, Italy, have also been introduced.
Head of product Zoe Towers made the announcements at the company’s conference in Paphos, Cyprus.
“They [the flights] are just selling so well,” she said. “One of the things we’ve seen is that the number of destinations we can offer has been squeezed, with Sharm [El Sheik] and Tunisia off the market. People are tending to book a lot in the Mediterranean.”
She added that Jet2’s airline of more than 80 aircraft is “flexible” in that they can change the size of the aircraft depending on bookings.
Jet2holidays also announced it will double the number of reps in its resorts for the summer, from 250 to 500.
Chief executive Steve Heapy said the move was “the right thing to do”.
Jet2’s reps offer a 24/7, 365 days a year service to holidaymakers in resort. The company has extended its Atol licence to cater for up to 2.3 million passengers next year.
“We’re not only increasing the number of reps because we’ve got more customers,” said chief executive Steve Heapy. “It’s a lot of money we are spending to make sure our customers are getting the best service.”
