P&O Cruises campaign offers five agent prizes worth £12,000 each

P&O Cruises is set for its ‘biggest wave period yet’ with five prizes each worth £12,000 up for grabs for agents.

Senior vice president of the cruise line, Paul Ludlow, said they expected the largest ever peak sales period.

Agents can win a new Mini, a mortgage or rent paid for a year and a five-star all-inclusive holiday to their choice of destination.

The line will also be offering weekly prize giveaways for agents on social media channels.

Ludlow said:  “This year’s wave is set to be the biggest wave yet and we have some really strong reasons as to why it will be again.

“Our business is on a real tide of momentum. P&O cruises has had a really fantastic 2016 and for 2017 we are better sold year over year.

“I think some of the uncertainty in the macro economic environment is helping P&O cruises because a lot of guests are now choosing us because they trust us.

“They also have a sense of certainty with holiday spending as on board our ships it is in sterling.

“We’re excited to launch this incentive and our new TV ad.

“Travel agents are hugely important to us and we are very grateful for the continued support they give us.”

Extra on board spending money on every outside or balcony cabin and suite booking will be promoted to consumers as part of the campaign which includes new TV advertising featuring comedian Rob Brydon breaking on Christmas Day.

Alex White, vice president of sales, P&O Cruises & Cunard, said: “We have built on our huge amount of choice for our customers during wave to create this incentive for our agents, there is the chance to win three incredible prizes.

“We have held a number of incentives this year and what we have found is that different agents want different things so we have given them the maximum choice possible.

“We focused on the three most expensive things in your life, your house, your car and your holiday.”

Bookings made between December 23 and February 28 on a Select Price will qualify for the chance to win a prize.

The total amount available per booking varies depending on the length and cost of the cruise, with a maximum of £600 per cabin available on a 24-night Caribbean cruise and £150 per cabin available on a seven-night eastern Mediterranean sailing.

Passengers booking a full 99-day world cruise are eligible for up to £2,000 spending money per cabin.

A number of P&O branded Mini Coopers will be out with their two regional sales teams during the period.

The new TV advert will be supported by a radio, print and digital campaign to promote the special consumer offer.

Regional TV adverts will also be used by the line in partnership with Midcounties Co-operative, Hays Travel and Barrhead.

The shorter adverts will feature a frame at the end directing customers to their nearest agent partner to book their P&O cruise.
