Delta Air Lines has cancelled an order for 18 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The US carrier inherited a deal for the aircraft when it bought Northwest Airlines in 2008.
In 2010 it deferred the delivery until after 2020.
Northwest had been the US launch customer for the 787 and took options on 50 more jets that were due to start arriving in 2008, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Neither company detailed the terms of the cancellation.
