Celebrity Cruises appoints new head of sales

Celebrity Cruises has promoted Nicola McNeish to head of sales planning and activation UK and Ireland.

McNeish’s promotion follows the appointment of Claire Stirrup to director of sales in November.

Stirrup’s promotion came after the announcement that commercial sales director for the UK and Ireland, Sarah Harraghy, was leaving the company due to personal reasons.

McNeish has been head of national accounts for Celebrity Cruises since December 2014 and joined the company as a strategic account manager in January 2014.

Prior to this she worked as a cruise national sales manager at Thomas Cook for seven years.

In her new role McNeish will be working with the Celebrity sales team and has a direct responsibility for managing and leading the regional sales manager team.

UK and Ireland managing director Jo Rzymowska said she was delighted with the promotions.

She said: “It is great to be in the situation where we are able to do so many internal promotions and it really speaks for itself and strength of our team.

“I am so proud of the team. As a sales team we are so clear on what our brand is, that Celebrity is premium luxury, and informing the agents of this, not just giving them the prices.”

In November, Rzymowska had Asia added to her remit in the newly expanded role of vice president and managing director, UK and Ireland and Asia and Kathy Barbrooke was appointed director of guest and trade services, UK and Ireland.
