BACKCHAT discovered that sumptuous meals were part and parcel of a recent Hayes and Jarvis educational to Costa Rica – but never actually bargained on being put on the menu personally.
Getting up early for a hearty bit of brekkie at the Chachagua Rain Forest Hotel, Backchat found a huddle of agents cooing over a macaw perched in the dining area.
They were feeding the cheeky bird bits of fruit from the table and Backchat decided to join in, offering the groups new feathered friend a generous chunk of banana.
This proved to be quite a mistake as, bypassing the banana, the bird gripped Backchat’s finger in its vice-like beak and made a determined attempt to bite it straight off!
Backchat received no sympathy from the assembled agents – who callously applauded rather than helpfully pass the plasters.
Just don’t ask us to ‘pick up the bill’ for breakfast.
