Alton Towers


Where? Alton, Staffs.


Features: eight themed areas, including the new Ug Land; five white-knuckle rides including the Corkscrew, and children’s areas.


Chessington World of Adventures


Where? Chessington, Surrey.


Features: rides include the Samurai and Vampire rollercoaster white-knuckle rides, water splashes and children’s area.


Disneyland Paris


Where? Marne la Vallee, France.


Features: four themed areas – Fantasyland, Discoveryland, Adventureland and Frontierland – which include rides such as the famous Space Mountain rollercoaster, haunted house; shows and day and night parades.


Efteling


Where? Tilburg, Holland.


Features: three rollercoasters, Villa Volta moving house, Fata Morgana boat ride and Fairy Tale Forest.


Futuroscope


Where? Poitiers, France.


Features: big screen images in 3D and 360 degree, move with the film in Cinema Dynamique, a night-time laser show,children’s area.


Legoland


Where? Billund, Denmark.


Features: rides for children aged three-13 themed as the Wild West, Pirates, and Castleland; Duplo-based rides and Lego models in Miniland.


Legoland Windsor


Where? Windsor Great Park, Surrey.


Features: seven lands with rides forchildren aged three-13, including Driving School and Dragon Coaster. Miniland features giant models made from more than 20m Lego bricks.


Parc Asterix


Where? Plailly, France, 20 miles north of Paris.


Features: attractions include new L’Oxygenarium, a traditional wooden rollercoaster, inflatable raft ride, children’s play area and live shows.


Phantasialand


Where? Cologne, Germany.


Features: 3D and 4D film adventures and a Mystery Castle guided tour ending with free fall.


Thorpe Park


Where? Chertsey, Surrey.


Features: attractions include No Way Out, a pitch-black, backwards rollercoaster; four water splashes and flumes, special area for younger children and the Thorpe Farm animal area.


Universal’s Port Aventura


Where? Costa Daurada, Spain


Features: five themed areas; Dragon Khan eight-looped rollercoaster, Stampidarollercoaster and Fiestaventura sound and light show.
