THOMAS Cook is expected to drop the Sunworld tour operating name and replace it with a new brand for the summer 2000 season.
Sources said the group will launch the new brand name on May 1 together with an advertising campaign to build up consumer awareness.
UK tour operating managing director Simon Vincent did not rule out the possibility but said no decision has yet been reached.
“All our brands are under review, including Sunworld, Sunset and Neilson but we have yet to reach any conclusions,” he said.
Vincent refused to be drawn on when an announcement would be made about the branding strategy. Inspirations, youth brand Xodus and seat-only operation FBI have already been axed.
The major operators are planning to launch their summer 2000 programmes at the end of April.
